HIII YAY IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT MY BKK TRIP :) IT'S ALR 2017 :O Haha we didn't do much to celebrate the new year but i still enjoyed it hehe. I'll blog about Christmas and New Year's after this i hope!! ALRIGHT HERE GOES.
Day 1 (Dec 16)
YAY WE WERE SO EXCITED. Finally i got to go to BKK with Andy and his fam haha. My mom was a bit hesitant at first but i think considering how we've been tgt for 3 years alr...she kinda trusted Andy to take care of me and stuff! SO YEAP. Our flight was really early :( So we had to get up at like 5+/6 haha. Called a Grabcar and picked Andy up at his house then we made our way to the airport tgt :D
I hate wearing specs out :( haha ah well. Hehe cute snorlax-themed Christmas set-up!!
We were really early so we just walked around and looked and stuff. After awhile we just sat down and watched Friends while waiting for our gate to open haha. The gate was so far away?! We had to walk from like T2 to T3 if i'm not wrong.

The flight was like slightly less than 2h?? HEHE SO SHORT. I hate long flights. I slept at the start then when the food came i started watching the Avengers HAHA. I wasn't interested in any of the movies :( Andy didn't even sleep haha. He's v good at entertaining himself :P
Yay so we reached BKK, got our SIM cards (settled it super quickly hehe and it was quite cheap!!) and took a cab to our hotel :D IT'S CALLED PAKDEE BED & BREAKFAST. We only stayed there for the first night! I'm not sure why we didn't just stay at Lemontea the whole way but nvm HAHA. Pakdee is a really homely place :) I didn't really like that there was so few people around though like it made me feel a bit scared sometimes LOL but it's okay :P
Anyway it was damn windy and cooling?! LIKE WHAT EVEN. I was so amazed it's like so cooling to the point that...i think Andy could've worn jeans comfortably and not sweat and stuff. LOL. I thought to myself like "omg i brought two caps for nth" HAHAHA. SIGH but the amazing weather only lasted for a day :( From the 2nd day onwards it was DAMN HOT AND SUNNY LOL. Ah well haha.
FIRST STOP: PLATINUM!! We stayed here for the bulk of the day :D SO EXCITING!! I wasn't expecting to buy much tbh! Cause the first time i came w my mom i didn't buy much but that's mainly cause we didn't get to look at the whole mall! SOOO Andy said we should cover every floor in like a 'zig-zag' pattern which really worked! Like we really covered every corner of the floors HAHA. We shopped tgt :D So like he'd help me look at clothes and vice versa. I'm surprised that he understands my taste in clothes so well....like if i look at smth and ask "is this nice" he'll say like "it's cute but i think you'll wear it a lot less than you expect to" which is so accurate. Hehe so yeap it's good that we shopped tgt! You'd think that shopping separately would be more efficient but not really!! If we shopped alone we'd shop slower and make poorer decisions... :P
Then we stopped for lunch :D Ate at the platinum food court which has so much food!! I couldn't decide on what to eat...damn sad cause i was having a sore throat during the trip?! ZZ SO SUAY. So like i had to be more careful of what i ate :( But i stupidly ordered this fried fish dish HAHA. The portion was so tiny and the sweet sauce hurt my throat :( I was just trying to avoid spicy food LOL.
After covering most of the floors we went back to the hotel to put our stuff down!! We went back the next day :D
So we just rested for awhile then head back out for dinner if i'm not wrong. Actually we wanted to visit this place Ode recommended called "Cheeze Market" which was right outside Central World! But it stopped on the 15th Dec and we arrived on the 16th :( So we were quite disappointed haha cause we expected it to be really good! She said that there was quite a lot to buy! Ah well so we decided to just have dinner straight at Central World's food court!

I ordered this beef soup thing which was so tasteless MEH. After the first day i didn't really care about my throat anymore cause i just wanted to eat good food hahaha.
There were still some small shops near Central World so we decided to take a look :D
We kinda felt like we should've had our dinner here cause there was a lot of good food!! So wasted :(
The Christmas displays were super flamboyant!! OMG. IT'S REALLY DAMN NICE IN REAL LIFE. Haha compared to Orchard...Ion only has like 1 Christmas here but here there are like more than 5 in total?!
IT WAS SO CROWDED. There were people taking pictures everywhere haha so we didn't really take a lot of photos!
ALSO, BKK HAS BOOTS SO IT WAS WET N WILD!! It's this cosmetics brand that Sg doesn't carry! And their lipsticks are only $5+?? CHEAPER THAN COLOURPOP. Hehe so i spent quite awhile looking at them and bought 1 to try!! Ended up getting a nude pink shade called "Bare It All" AND I REALLY LOVE IT :D
So we planned to occupy ourselves by going to the cheeze market place but since it was gone we just went back to rest first! We were supposed to meet Ode at night cause she was in BKK too but she was only free after 10.30pm and we were too tired to wait till then haha. YAY so went back and TRIED ALL OUR NEW CLOTHESS :) I WAS SO HAPPY. Most of them fit well and i don't regret any of my purchases haha (for that day LOL).
Day 2
Breakfast w a nice outdoor view :D I didn't sleep well the prev night cause i kept hearing motorcycles?! IT WAS SO NOISY. Like the whole night i had problems sleeping cause the road was so noisy and it was right next to our window :( AH WELL. BUT I STILL SURVIVED :D
Woke up early to go back to Platinum hahaha
Checked out first and left our baggage w the hotel! Cause it wasn't time to check-in at Lemontea yet.
So after walking around and stuff we went back to grab our stuff and walked to Lemontea! Both hotels are really close to Platinum haha. CUTE PLACEE :D So we met his mom there and waited for the rest of his family to come :) Then we checked in!! It's a slightly bigger hotel haha i prefer this place cause it's less noisy and night and ya a bit bigger so it didn't give me creepy vibes :P

We were tired from shopping (even though we didn't buy much) so we decided to sit somewhere first while waiting for the rest to finish shopping!
Ode stayed RIGHT ABOVE platinum mall so she could come and meet us for awhile :D YAYY IT'S SO FUN TO MEET FRIENDS OVERSEAS.
Had to bring this childish daisy bag cause my mom didn't feel good about me carrying a drawstring bag around :P
So we met with the rest of his family and made our way to Radfai Night Market :D There are two of them so they're like sister markets but one is bigger than the other so Andy's aunt suggested we go to the bigger one! Haha but that meant that we had to travel further and we were supposed to meet Ode again at night for our massage but cause of the bad jam we didn't manage to :( But at least we still met for awhile! :)
So we split into two cabs! His uncle's family friend joined us! So in one cab was his uncle, aunt, uncle's friend and the two of us. Then in the other was terence, kahyen, ben and andy's dad! Okay sorry this isn't interesting but i felt like saying it HAHA. OMG THE RIDE WAS SO LONG....and ours was the cab w 5 people so 4 people had to squeeze at the back :( THE JAM SITUATION IN BKK IS REAL.
We finally got there after like an hour or so :O Haha but the market was really cool!! IT WAS HUGEE
They sell these huge prawns everywhere!!
So we roamed around and tried to find food first! We tried these flamed scallops and mussels w mozerella!!
THE SCALLOPS WEERE TINY :( So it was quite underwhelming
BUT THE MUSSELS WERE GOOD :D
Andy's aunt saw that her friend at this seafood platter thingy where there just throw the seafood onto a plastic sheet and you can just eat from it w your hands! So we tried it :D
SO COOL. IT WAS NOT BAD :D around 3 people shared one!

Then Ben spotted people carrying this and told us he found nitrogen ice-cream!! But it was really just nitrogen snacks HAHAHA. SIGH i was quite disappointed but we bought them anyway for fun and it was actually damn fun to play w it!! HAHA LIKE ONCE U EAT IT IT'S DAMN COLD. And you can immediately release vapour from your mouth LOL DAMN FUN.

YAY then we walked around a bit more and Terence wanted to get an air brush tattoo haha. I got one in Coburg hehe so i wanted to get it again! IT WAS CHEAP ANYWAY :D
It took me so long to decide on a design HAHA. I wanted smth bigger at first but the bigger designs weren't v nice so i settled for this small reindeer haha.
I think they were having 1-for-1 drinks so we bought Hoegaarden to share!! IT WAS V V FRUITY :D It didn't even taste like alcohol haha i was so happy that i discovered this drink.
Hehe soon after we met w the rest of his fam again and left!! Had to take the long cab ride back to our hotel :P Haha we were so tired! Didn't do that much in the day but we had a good night :D
Day 3
YAY DAY 3! It was a Saturday so we went to Chatuchak :D MY FIRST TIME HEHE. I WAS SO EXCITED! I admit was excited to take the mandatory coconut ice-cream pic too LOL.
SLEEPYHEAD. We slept pretty late and had to get up early haha so we were quite tired :P
Our breakfast at Lemontea!! They have a small menu and every morning we just tell them what we want and they prepare it freshly :D
Wearing my new Brandy Melville top :P And my basic cap sighhh i didn't really wanna wear it cause it looks damn basic w my top but it was damn sunny?! Why couldn't the weather be as amazing as it was on day 1 :(

YAY SO WE ARRIVED! Hehe first thing we did was get the coconut ice-cream!! IT WAS SO REFRESHING. A great contrast to the sweltering heat LOL.

Okay it just tasted like ordinary coconut ice-cream to be completely honest :P
Yay so we walked around and squeezed through some small lanes HAHA
I bought FAIRY LIGHTS and a new black leather haversack!! THE BAG WAS 9 SGD?! SO WORTH IT. It looks like it costs $30 HAHAHA. And the fairy lights were $4 :D SO WORTH IT. That's all i bought though cause i felt guilty for spending so much on day 1!! :P Haha you know Andy brought $300 w him but by the end of day 1 he only had $100+?? LOLOL. So he had to go and get more thai baht :P
IT WAS SUPER HOT and we were thirsty so we got drinks event hough it was almost time for lunch haha
LUNCH :D We had to wait super long at the clock tower place before this HAHA cause his aunt and uncle were still busy shopping. His aunt is super cute omg i had no idea that she's in her late 50s alr cause she's still so young at heart haha. Like she loves cute stuff and she really loves to shop! Hopefully i'll be as energetic as her when i'm her age haha.

After this we went to Art Box!! Haha it was just nice 3pm but the place was so empty?! Sigh we should've done some research or smth haha cause like it says that it opens at 3pm but at 3 there was barely anyone LOL. I read some reviews online people said that you should go in the evening HAHA. Like at 3pm there will hardly be people who are even setting up :P AH WELL.

Haha soooo we left and went back to put down our stuff first! Then we head back out and went to Central World to have some dessert before going to another night market! This "After You" cafe is super famous in BKK!! The queue was so long omg. So we had to take a queue number and slowly wait for our turn haha.
Haha so after a really long wait it was finally our turn! WE ORDERED ONE DESSERT TO SHARE :D They're mostly famous for their toasts so we just got that :) Kahyen, Terence and Ben each had one for themselves?! They struggled so badly hahaha. Anyway i like this picture of Andy :D
And my pic is so bad sigh dk if it's the lighting or the photographer or just me :( HAHAHA jk idrc. ANYWAY IT WAS SO GOOD. Like the toast was warm, tasty and crunchy at certain parts and it just went really well w the ice-cream hehe.

HEHE SO it was time to go to another night market!! This time we went to the sister market which was a lot closer!! It's called Rod Fai Ratchada :D Haha actually idk how we ended up going there but no regrets!
There were a lot of hipster looking bars there!! The ambience was so cool like it felt wrong to not go in for a drink HAHA. But we didn't :P
WEW MORE SHOPPING AND FOOD. So i was looking for a plain 3/4-sleeved mid-formal white top that i saw on this blogshop. I saw similar pieces at platinum but none of them were really what i was looking for!! AND I FOUND IT HERE. HEHEHE. FAV PURCHASE OF DA TRIP :D Idk why i like the shirt so much actually LOL well some things are hard to explain.
Andy bought these noodles which were damn spicy!! I TRIED ONE SPOON AND I DIED. Andy finished like 3/4 of it hahaha BUT W A LOT OF EFFORT. He really liked it though :D
COCONUT SMOOTHIE!! HEHE MY FAV DRINK. I like this more than thai iced milk tea actually. Andy devoured like half of my drink cause his noodles were too spicy :( Ah well i wouldn't have finished it anyway haha.
So after buying our food we decided to sit somewhere and eat!! WE DAMN HOBOS HAHA.

Haha Kahyen and i bought two skirts from the same stall cause they had an offer but i regretted it LOL. One of the few purchases i regretted because they weren't skirts but they were SKORTS ZZ i couldn't even tell and they looked so pretty but the cutting was BADD :( Sigh i was so disappointed but thank goodness they were cheap HAHA. I bought a handphone cover too :D And Ben kept playing w this lighter that's actually a prank. Like when you try to 'light' it it will shock you?! LOL. I tried it it was damn bad i screamed and dropped the lighter HAHA. Then Ben felt bad cause i dropped it so he decided to just buy it :P He planned to prank his friends with it haha.
Oh this day i talked to andy's uncle's family friend - Hong hong! SHE'S REALLY NICE. She's in BKK for an internship! She couldn't afford to go anywhere further so yeap she had to go to BKK but she doesn't regret it :D I'm super impressed by her cause she stayed here by herself for so long and struggled at the start but she learnt so much and even picked up pretty fluent Thai! So yeah she told me that if i have the chance i should study or work overseas because i will really learn a lot and become more independent! UGH it sounds so good but idk if i can survive :P Haha ah well but it was nice talking to her :D
So we were really tired but we def still had energy to go for a massage!! HEHE LAST ACTIVITY FOR THE DAY. The guys went for a full body massage while Kahyen and i just had a foot massage! I don't really like the full body ones cause it hurts :( And i hate it when they massage my shoulders and my head like it just does not feel right :P
The massage was pretty good!! After the massage they brought us out to this area to chill and gave us drinks :D So nice hehe. After the massage Kahyen and i went to buy some food from the convenience store cause we didn't eat much at the night market! Bought this crab meat fried rice which was ready-made and it was so good?! LIKE WHAT EVEN. It kinda tasted fresh HAHA. I was so satisfied hehe.
So that was all for day 3! :D
Day 4
NEW DAY. We went to Chinatown first then went to a temple! Afterwards it was kinda 'free and easy" :D
Wearing the new top i just got from the prev day and the new wet n wild lipstick i was talking about!! IT'S SUCH A PRETTY NUDE SHADE.
Chinatown! IT'S SUPER CROWDED. We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant haha we all had wanton mee cause it was apparently good and yeap it didn't disappoint :D
Haha we had to squeeze through a lot of small lanes again and once in awhile we stopped by some shops to take a look :D There was nothing that i'm v interested in lah haha but it was damn busy and happening so yeap, still quite an experience!!
Then we went to Wat Arun temple!!
We had to take a boat there from Chao Praya river!
LOOK AT ALL DA FISH. Terence and Ben bought bread to feed them w hahaha. It was so entertaining but all the birds were swooping in and trying to steal the bread?! DAMN SCARY.
So then they decided to feed the birds HAHAHA
Boarding the boat!! Idk why i was frowning a bit in this snap LOL maybe i frowned subconsciously cause of the WEATHER. It was so hot that day :(
So we finally got here and we had to pay money to wear a sarong LOL. I thought it was quite annoying?? Like we alr need to pay an entrance fee for this section of the temple so like why are we paying extra for sarongs and they enforced the 'sarong' rule quite loosely also. Meh but what to do.
But no doubt this temple is gorgeous!! HEHE I REALLY LOVE THE ARCHITECTURE

Haha so after walking around for awhile longer we met up with the rest of his family and head back! Andy wanted to bring me to Terminal 21 to take a look so we went there and the rest went to Siam Paragon if i'm not wrong! :)
Haha the moment we got there we just found a cafe and chilled there for awhile! WE WERE SO TIRED. Cause it was really damn hot HAHA. YAY got to enjoy the air con for awhile. Basically i just explored the place! It's quite cool haha but nothing much to buy lah. Hehe so we head back to somewhere near our hotel and since we had time we decided to go for another foot massage!! YAY SO SHIOK.
HAHA i could just fall asleep here.
After this we met his family for dinner at Central World! We just ate at the food court haha. It's quite atas though and they have a lot of stuff! I ordered their stewed pork and it was so tasty hehehe. So we went back to the hotel and tried to sleep early cause the next day we had to wake up early to go to pratanum morning market :D
Day 5
Last day :( So we got up at like 6 to go to pratanum morning market!! Haha actually i think we got up at like 5.45am LOL. Cause the market closes at about 9 :O Surprisingly we weren't THAT tired haha cause we slept early the prev night!
EXCITING
The market was really happening!! I regret not spending more time there but it wouldn't be fair for the guys cause all the clothes there were women's clothes?! LOL. I think next time i should just head there by myself HAHA. I FELT SO BAD. Like what even i didn't expect them to not sell men's clothes :( Meanwhile i was buying 3 items for like $15 :P Okay but i didn't buy THAT much haha.
His parents + kahyen and terence were there too :D The rest were still sleeping haha.
So we got back, had breakfast, rested for awhile and head back out for DIM SUM!! :)
PS i didn't take pictures of the food and stuff cause it seemed rude haha. SO YEAP. THE DIM SUM WAS SO GOOD THOUGH!! I can see why they go back there a lot :D
Haha so after this it was kinda 'free and easy' again! Andy and i decided to go back to platinum cause we had to do some LAST MIN SHOPPING. Haha Andy had more things he wanted to buy and i was also looking for this place where i got skorts from! Cause one the 1st day i bought this pair of skorts which fit really nicely and i wanted to go back and buy more :D
After that we actually didn't have much to do :P We wanted to go for a manicure but we couldn't find cheap ones near our hotel! And it was too troublesome to travel further to get one haha so we just passed and nua-ed in the hotel for awhile! Then at about 5+/6 we head back out for dinner! Had a casual dinner at the platinum food court w everyone :) Hong hong came and gave us thai milk tea buns!! THEY WERE SO TASTY OMG. I wonder where she got them from!! The next time i go i'm gonna buy more hehehe.
SOOO our 'finale' was RED SKY BAR! It's a rooftop bar right at the top of Central World! Hehe the 5 of us - Ben, Kahyen, Terence, Andy and I went there for drinks!
FIRST TUK TUK RIDE. Damn funny you can hear Andy saying "i'm sorry aunty" LOL he was scared that my mom would mind cause tuk tuks aren't v safe :P HAHA BUT IT WAS FUN
WEWW. We thought it was just a regular rooftop bar but it was SUPER ATAS?! So we got up here and the waitress was like "If you come to Red Sky bar often i recommend that you go up to the higher bar" which is more EXPENSIVE but has a better view. Andy didn't hear the first part so he was like "OKAY". I was like '???" like it was our v first time there HAHAHA we aren't even regulars LOL. So basically up there they sell fewer but more unique drinks! AND THEY ARE ALL 20 SGD. LOL DAMN EX. Hahaha it was so amusing.

LOL Andy was damn worried that we wouldn't be able to pay for it haha. So like, it was just the two of us + Kahyen and Ben first. Terence was elsewhere so after ordering Ben went to find him!

My drink!! It's called swallow's nest i think. THE CAGE MAKES IT LOOK SO FANCY. Wah but it's not v worth it though cause as much as i hate alcohol, this barely had any liqour inside?? It was v diluted if you ask me :( So not v worth the money haha it was like i was just drinking juice :P

We kept ducky and yes the bill was $100 in total hahaha. FOR ONLY 4 DRINKS. I DIED. We asked for the bill right after Terence came and ordered cause Andy was worried that we wouldn't have enough to pay for it HAHA. So then there would be time for his dad to come over and pass money to us :P DAMN FUNNY. We really didn't expect this bar to be so high class haha.

So initially there were only 4 people on the tuk tuk but after Terence joined we had to squeeze 5 people in HAHAHA. DAMN FUNNY. IDEK HOW WE DID IT :P It's damn scary when it swerves haha like you really feel like you could fly out! But thankfully Kahyen and i were both in a safe spot so we didn't have to worry :D
Got back, packed and went to sleep!! WE LEFT THE NEXT MORNING :( The rest of his family only went back the following day haha. Cause initially i was supposed to go to Japan on the 22nd so that's why we flew back on the 21st! But in the end i went to Japan ealier haha so ah well it's okay!
Day 6
BYE LEMONTEA
We were sad to leave :(
Haha so his parents sent us off to the airport! We took a cab there :) hehe checked in and walked around for a bit before boarding!!

HEHE SO THAT'S ALL! I'm v v thankful for this trip cause I got to spend 5 days w Andy's family and i grew a lot more comfortable w them :D Hehe of course it was fun spending 5 consecutive days with Andy and needless to say even though he is v annoying he takes super good care of me :D Hehe can't wait for our next overseas trip tgt! Hopefully we'll get to go w friends again soon :) But YEAP it was a short but fulfilling trip and if my mom allows i wanna go again this December :D CYA SOON THEN!
